Okay, I am going to share a horror story that I will ONLY share with you good people. I've been using the cups for probably over a year with relative success. I use a large yukki on my heavy days and a moon cup for my lighter days, my period is an annoying 7 days. (some minor spotting on the last days). I had a great 10 months or so with my cup, but started having problems just after I got my IUD in last winter. I ended up with awful cases of recurring BV and UTIs that I didn't fully kick until June. I kept thinking I was ok, I'd start using the cup again, and then my soreness and itchiness would come back and I'd stop using it because it hurt too ( Read more... )

I got my lab tests back, and it couldn't find any UTI, there was trace blood in my urine.  The nurse who did my swabs said it wasn't inflamed my vagina, but I did have an abnormal grey-green clumpy thick discharge that was like an STD, or a cross between thrush and BV.  My swabs came back negative for the STD they tested me for (no surprise since I ( Read more... )

I've been feeling pretty grotty last few months, more than usual, unrelenting constant headaches, abdominal, pelvic, chest, bowel and back pain, excessive discharge, frequent urination.  After my last period two weeks ago, excessive green discharge finally gave me a real indication it was possibly an infection.   I've never had anything like it.   ( Read more... )

So I got my cup, a small lunette selene, last summer but wasn't having my period so I had to wait. And no dry runs worked. But anyways I finally am having a period and I decided to use my cup. So I've been feeling the symptoms of a UTI for since Friday evening and finally got to a gyn this morning, who said I definitely have one, or some sort of bladder something. Anyway, that wouldn't bother me too much, except that my period just started tonight (right on time). Is it safe to use my DivaCup while I have a UTI? I'm guessing it is, ( Read more... )
